Those box rails look awesome!
I really want to get myself a pair just like them, but it seems that they're VERY hard to come by in great condition... the new ones are just too expensive for my budget build at the moment...
Maybe some day. Hopefully I won't have to wait as long as you did Mike

Hey guys, I finished detailing the main wiring harness on the Pumpkin. I was very fortunate in that the harness was never butchered like so many other trucks have been.
I stripped all the old tape off and checked all the wiring and connectors for any problems and didn't find anything. Then I cleaned all the terminals and sprayed them with contact cleaner.
Using Q tips, a small, soft nylon brush and Simple Green I scrubbed all the plugs and wiring that had been exposed.
The wiring under the dash wasn't too bad, more dusty than anything else. The engine compartment side was pretty grungy.
There was no damage and only minimal corrosion on the terminals. There have never been any splices or cuts in the harness so it was in really good shape, more cosmetic than anything else.
The harness had a red label on it with the Ford engineering number, I wanted to keep that but it was pretty much shot. The tape is clear with the info printed on it and the backside was coated with red ink. The adhesive was gone from old age and the red ink was flaking off. After I rewraped the harness I got some red electrical tape and wraped a piece around the harness, then coated the tape with a thin layer of "Goop" (clear adhesive) and then wraped the label around it. I think it came out pretty good.
I know just about where all the connections go to but while I had it out I went ahead and labeled all the plugs to make installation (in the far, distant future) easier.
I also detailed the windshield wiper delay box while I had it out.

Thanks Aaron, I've been following your build too and have to say you're doing a great job, especially considering you have to work within a college student budget. Nice work.

Thanks again guys for all of the compliments and encouragement, this just adds to enjoyment and fun that I get with "The Pumpkin Project".
The Pumpkin is on hold for a little bit while I catch up on other projects that I've been neglecting for too long, my "To Do" list has become a "probably not in your lifetime" list.
Have no fear though, soon she'll be back on the front burner where she should be. I can't wait.
