thx

what is a 557? when I did my headers ai was told long headers are better by all the shops around. better flow and horse power, if you y them into a single 3 inch gives a better low to mid torque and good scavedge to

557 is a 460 80 over and stroked. generally 80 over is bout max on a stock block. I used a DOVE block after stonic testing it. It is my daily driver, so not looking to make it too wild, prob will be a torque monster.

thanks for the mad dog info...looked it up..still same issue..inside frame or fender? and pros/cons

My opinion, outboard is the wat to go. Easy bends, no heat soaked starter to deal with & a straight shot back. Mad Dog use big tubes, L&L's are smaller. I don't know about Hooker but I'm sure the price would be steep.

crank is 4.5, rods 4.440, where stock is 3.850 and 4.390. Went with a forged crank..prob a bit overkill in my application..also convereted the block from 2 to 4 bolt mains

These look right for a 557" streeter; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/80-96...=p4506.c0.m245

Or these; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...=p4506.c0.m245
They look nice and the price is fair.

All I know about that is that the headers from my 84 F250 2WD fit on my 77 F250 4WD with no mods on the left side, a major but easy mod on the right side and clearancing the crossmember, which I had to do on the 84's too. The headers point right at them.

You'll have to "ask the seller" a question to be more specific with your application.

Edit; I didn't read the first ad carefully enough. Oops. The second one looks like the ones you want.

I'm probably wrong considering the price but those look like stainless steel. Or very shiny mild steel.
