i was on youtube last night and found some guys who installed smoke switchs on there 6.0l by tapping into the power wire for the vgt actuator and shutting it off to make smoke they were rolling coal to no end it looked pretty cool a little to much smoke for my liking though but what would be the negative effects of doing this it cant be good for things to blow that much fuel through the motor what do you guys think
THis whole smoke thing, its getting a little disturbing to me. I like a little smoke, just take make sure the motor is not running lean, but to just billow it out for no good reason. I dunno... maybe im thinking longer term. However, it would look pretty cool
thats what i think i want smoke when i step on it but i dont want to cover the whole town in it it definetly looked cool since the guy had stacks on his truck but i cant see how somebody could do that with no regard to what that could be doing to your engine to the people that r doing that smarten up that is a very exspensive engine to risk blowing up just to roll some coal
get a good tune and it will smoke but also haul a$$. stupid to blow smoke if u dont go anywhere.lol and i know a buddy that did that and it did mess his turbo up.
There's a whole thread on another forum about this same thing. It's nothing but destructive to the VGT and turbo. Excess smoke is nothing but wasted fuel and is being frowned on more and more every day by respected members of the diesel performance community who want to be able to enjoy their sport/hobby without more unnecessary legislation from Oroscoe's.
