under valve cover torque specs

hey guys i am about to put on my new UVCH's and i know that someone said that i should re torque all the stuff under there while the covers are off. here is what i have tell me if i am on the right track

Rocker are pedestal bolts = 20 ft-lbs
lower injector hold down bolts = 120 in-lbs
valve cover bolts - 8 ft-lbs

the other thing i was curious about is when i usually put on my intercooler boots i just tighten them down until they feel tight. is there a certain torque that i can do them as well so i know they are tight enough but not so tight that the clamp will hurt the boot.

I think that is it unless someone has anything to add.

thanks
Jeron

I use a shot of hairspray on the boots and tighten them down till they feel right. I don't use a torque wrench on the valve cover bolts either. I wouldn't worry about the spring clamps damaging the boots, but the hose clamps on the orange boots going to the intake plenums might do a little damage, both to the boot or the plenum itself. I also try not to get carried away on the intercooler connections

With all that said, 71 in-lbs is the spec for the clamps on the boots.

ha ha with all that said thanks

i think i might just torque them once and then do it by hand on the torqued nut just to see what it feels like.

oh ya one more thing

because i took off most of the coil's off of the top of the injector. i was wondering if there was a necessary torque that needed to be applied to the 4 little torex bolts that hold the coils to the injector's.

Don't know the torque spec for the injector solenoid torx screws but I would just give a couple of the ones you didn't loosen a twist to get a feel for them. Lke you were going to do after torquing the t-bolt boot clamps.

When you said you took off the coils on the other thread i was curious myself about the coil torque. I never remember reading what the torque was on FTE. Searched and ran through my manuals. I still could not come up with what the spec was on it.. Glad you found the problem.
