New guys needs advice
here the story:
I am currently working at a construction site in NJ built next fall will be done and moving back to mighty Missouri , middle of the state.near Lake OF THE OZARKS.
Will be building a house out in the woods and will need a truck. have always been a ford man.
I drive 50 miles each way to work till then.
BUT I have an opportunity to buy a 1999 F250 long bed 4 wheel drive.
It has everything I need- even the toolbox.
AND has 42,000 miles on it and the guy wants $10,000.
I will have to drive it everyday for he net 16 months at what 15 MPG.
Other than that only thing I find wrong is the custom exhaust he has on it eliminated the spare tire. Don't like that as I will be far out in the woods in Mo.
only rust was surface rust on frame and other parts
new tires, battery, alternator, brakes hoses. belt and brakes.
real clean, I could find no evidence of acidents, all joints line up,.
1. is there anything I should look for ?
2. doing steady 55-60 on cruise to and from work .. is it still 15 mpg and is there anything to do that could improve that ?
3. I Noted the ESOF ( shift on the fly to regular 4X. any trouble there?
I really wanted to find a extended cab but hate to pass up 42,000 miles?
what do you all think ,,
