How Many QTS??

I'm pissed or stupid

Brought rig in for pump and drain of ATF. Provided my own ATF fluid (18qts)
Got rig back- they only used 3qts- the other 3gallon jugs and separate 3 qts were not touched.

What's going on here?

Lash tranny fluid change 100k ago they used 14qts

Ford says they do not recc a flush after 100k miles he says- they power FLUSH Goes on to say he though we were only doing qa service and had to answer as to why I had 18qts of ATF in the rig..
He says they do not have a pump to pump it out.

I think I should have this pumped out- I have 226K miles

Advice please

if you are doing tranny service on a regular basis then there is no need to flush the whole system. why dont you do it yourself, save yourself the hassle. if you drain the converter and such it will use more fluid.

Okay- let me get this straight.
If I drain the torque converter (TC) in addition to dropping the pan -change filter and gasket- then I am changing the transmission fluid?

I have already done the pan and gasket and it used about 3/4gal of ATF.
I have 16qts unused..and it aint cheap at 9.95$ a qt.

Also, I last replaced the fluid 100k ago- currently 226K
So, why did the dealer only offer the "power flush" and not a drain+fill of the TC?
Explian that ?

Said power flush not recc. because it will screw up tolerances and wash away the needed viscosicty blah, blah.- Okay not doing that.

So, If I continue with the tranny service myself and drain the TC- then fill through the trans. dip stick fill; this new fluid will not FUBAR my 226K trans??

I'm not talking about changing a window motor here- this is my DD and I need someone with real life knowledge here.
Confused here??

Here is a write up on changing the fluid. I just changed mine yesterday. https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...nsmission.html Do it yourself, Its not hard. I flushed the TC and it is running much better. No shudder after fluid change and I have 180,000 miles on the trans.
