Whats the best way to go after installing seat belts in a 63' f100 4x4 long bed? I'd like to make this thing at least a little safer to drive in by adding seat belts. Ive done research and have found kits, but none that seem to fit this particular truck. I would like to do it myself and can weld if i have to.
Well, when I get around to getting my 63 running, and I need to put belts in, I was going to tack weld a small, maybe 5"x5" square of steel plate under the cab where I want to bolt the seat belts to, drill through it and then weld a nut over the whole so I can screw in a grade 8 bolt through the floor into the nut and tighten.... does that make sense?! it did in my brain when I was thinkin and typin it!!!
Topic has come up on several occasion, posting link to search results under 'seat belts' but may have more success running search under anther 'key word' then narrow the field to the 61-66 forum.
Got tired of closing the door on the lap belts and replaced with retractable on the 65 F100, if recall, took them off a Mustang.
Can also swap the seats with ones where the shoulder harness is incorporated in the seat.
