I have a 63 F100.
Was walking around at the Carlisle All Truck Nationals. A vendor was selling universal mount truck bench seats. The seats had large rectangular brackets on the bottom with many holes for mounting. Seats also have a fold down console in the middle with drink holders. Vendor said they would fit in any truck with 56 inches of width clearence. He thought that they may not fit in a 63 truck and said that after 1972 the trucks were wider. These seats did not have seat belts and started at 695 dollars.
Another vendor was selling used seats and had a set of seats he said was from a Ram Truck. These seats had seat belts and were higher in the corners and also had shoulder belts. I can not measure my truck right now it is in the body and paint shop. Does anyone have experience with changing seats ? What will fit ? Any vendors with catalogs or specific bone yard vehicles that are good to get seats from ? Would like to have modern comfortable seats that give a little more leg, shifter room and have seat and shoulder belts. Also would not like to spend 695 dollars to start for them.

Andy, I put seat belts (lap belts only)in my 66 back in '83, and took them out of an old Ford car. I just made sure they were long enough. To install them, I drilled through the floorpan behind the bench seat and used a large washer on both sides of the bolt, to give enough strength to it.
I wanted to put in shoulder belts, and saw only 2 ways to do it without putting in a seat with integrated shoulder belts.
One way is to mount the shoulder belt to the floor behind the seat, but most belts aren't long enough to do that.
The other way would be to mount it to the cab below the back window, but that means relocating the gas tank. Even so, I'm not sure it is a good idea because the bolts would go through the cab, and that looks pretty bad.
The last option was to mount the shoulder part where it looks like it should go, over the shoulder, but the metal plate right there is there just for reinforcement and support for the interior headliner that comes down the side. It is too weak, and not beefy enough to handle the stress a setbelt would put on it during an impact, and would probably cause more injury than not.
I just live with the lap belts, and maybe some day I'll have enough money to buy a nice bench seat that has integral seat belts.
Have you checked the boneyards at all?

I will most likely be going to the one boneyard that is reasonably close to me this weekend. But my truck is in the shop getting body work and paint done. I can not measure to see what would fit. My truck has lap belts. They look exactly like the ones from airplanes. Was hoping to find seats that give a little more leg and shifter room. I am tall and with the seat all the way back there still really is not enough leg room. Also the shifter is about 1/4 inch from the seat in 1st and 3rd gear with the seat all the way back.

My son's 63 had the bench seat from a 72 F100 in it.I used the seat from a 86 F150 in my 66. It uses a stiffer foam for the back and thereby is thinner than the old seat. You will gain some legroom that way. In these trucks, every little bit helps.
