At the rear of the pass side valve cover I have a PCV valve sticking out of the vlv cover with a piece of 6" hose attached. The other end of the hose is not connected to anything, not does it appear anywhere that there is something to attach it to. On the drivers side there is a hose coming from the oil filler cap to the air cleaner. The (PCV?) filter in the air cleaner has a fair amount of oil in it.
Is this the correct set up? Should there be some sort of intake air filter on the pass side?
PCV should connect to a 3/8"ish nipple under or on the carburetor. The line to the air cleaner is the breather/filter. Get a new filter insert to replace the one full of oil, or just get one of those aftermarket filler/breather caps.
Thanks...... I double checked there is no 3/8 nipple back there either on the carb or the manifold to connect to the PCV hose.......there is the choke vaccum nipple capped off after I installed a manual choke. could I connect the PCV hose to the choke vacuum nipple?
The tag is gone (its been rebuilt at some point) as far as I can tell it is a motorcraft 2100 or 2150 2 barrel. I'm emissons exempt. 1.21 jets, auto trans, no air, Class C motorhome, Chateau "Camper Special"
So, it looks like the carb has been re-installed without the carb spacer with PCV nipple....my question is can I reduce down the PCV hose and connect it to the choke vacuum nipple which is currently not being used?
