My 5.8l died, no warning and now no ignition

You are either not getting power to or you are not getting power from the Ignition switch.
Use your test light to find out. If you do not have a test light get one.

It was a fused link after all. I had thought from one of the diagrams I looked at that the "fuse" part was closer to the terminal end of the wires. I went back to have a second look with a beer in hand. I figured I must be missing something and then took out the battery for a closer look and saw the fused links. A trip to the parts store and $1.93 (Canadian) and she is fixed.
