Installing my 4" mbrp turbo back (off-road) and have come to a problem. I've gotten all the old exhaust out and cut the down pipe but am unable to get the down pipe separated from the turbo. I've loosened the band clamp considerably and i'm getting nothing... HELP! I have to be somewhere by 7pm tonight..
Ok got it all installed finally. I had to leave to make my appointment so finished it when I got back.. I only needed 20 more minutes. Not a very hard job but would have been easier with help and maybe a little more ground clearance. I am going to run it by the muffler shop tomorrow and see if they can go back over all of the u-bolts and make sure they are tight. Thanks for the help with the band clamp!!
I haven't driven it yet but I will say it wasn't what I was expecting. My understanding of what the turbo would sounds like was a little off. It is definitely cool and is growing on me the only thing I really got to get used to (sound wise) is the air blower sound from the tip of the exhaust you can really hear the air blowing and the turbo spinning. It has a really nice deep rumble when you give it gas and it sounds like an F16 when rev'd up. I can't wait to drive it tomorrow to see what drivability seat of the pants feels like. I actually have some video(sound clip) I'll post in a moment..
Ok got to drive it to work this AM and it sounds amazing at WOT, don't much care for the drone at 65/70ish (around 2k RPM). It seems to accelarate much more quickly from 65-90.
