Exhaust choice (flowmaster vs summit)

Posted this in the exhaust section but have had no luck with response so i thought i would try here

Doing some mods to my 06 F150 SCREW and have een doing some research and trying figure out what is the difference is between the flow master and summit exhaust systems.

They are both 3" summit is a turbo with no tip, and flowmaster is chambered and with a 3.5 tip.

Does anybody have either one of these what are the performance and sound differences.

Thanks for any help

the turbo is a cheap and quiet muffler.

while depending on how many chambers the flowmaster has it will be alot louder. Most common is the 40 series muffler which is two chambered muffler.

As for performance dont really do it looking to increase mpg or such (not saying it wont gain power but it isn't going to be alot).

My opinion on Summit Brand stuff is, it is cheap chinese garbage marketed for the less forrtunate.

This statement I make, is in refference to Summit Brand Items... Not the items Summit sells. Does that make sence?

I posted this on another section of these forums, and somebody came back and said ... " I bought parts from summit to rebuild my 50 somthin chevy, it was good"

Summit is 20 min from my house. I spend alot of time there and money, Unfortuantly.

They have a great return policy. Sell many great named Items, at agressive prices. But there brand item is Poor.

Example;

My buddy is building a 56 Ford prostreet. He has an engine built to use, and needs a specific oil pan. We went up to Summit, bought 3 or 4 diferent ones. Summit brand was one of them... The bolt holes on the Sumit Brand didnt line up for a small block chevy, Inside the pan was a sticker "china"
He went with the "Miloden"

Hope this helps... I have used Flowmasters before... Great Muffler. There is another one on here called Wicked sound or somthing??? it sounded OK.
I think either way you might sacrifice some economy, but tests show otherwise. I personaly hate the resonating sound in the cab at specific RPM's from some after market brands.

Please post what you land up buying, and your testimonial to that item.

I had the 40 series delta flows on my 78. They were decent. I took those off and found a muffler at performance curve.com. They have the exact same mufflers as flowmasters but it is in there brand name. I bought some 1 chamber p.c. mufflers for my 78 and 06 and they sound great. I had the 1 chambers with 45* turndowns on the 78 and I have the same muffler with 3" tips on the 06. They run about 25bux plus shipping.
