Fuel Problems

My truck has sat for almost 2 years without running and I recently put a new electric fuel pump on it and rebuilt the carb. I was worried about the gas, but it fired right up and ran great. The problem is I now can't get any fuel to the pump and don't know if the line got something in it or what. Does anyone have any ideas on cleaning out the line or priming the pump to get fuel?

Yeah,

You've got two years of moisture, the associated rust and fuel tank scum - let alone what has collected in the lines, that has plugged up your lines and probably your carb.

Drain and purge the tank, flush the lines and rebuild the carb - if you ran it, it's sucked up the crud...too late.

I thought it may have picked up something too, but I took the line off the inlet to the pump and pressurized the tank and got plenty of fuel out of the line. I also blew the line out both ways with no problem.

The pump is running, but doesn't seem to be sucking fuel. I took it off and ran it from a gas can and it is putting out plenty of fuel, but not once it is bolted on the truck.

Some of the electric pumps I have used do not work very well if they have to "suck the fuel uphill"..... meaning they have to be mounted lower than the tank so they are gravity fed.... others are only good for pushing the fuel not pulling it so they have to be mounted very close to the tank to work..... some are a combination of both
Another thought have you tried to lightly pressurize the tank when the pump is running?? It may just need primed........
Just rambling thoughts
