I just joined, in hopes of finding some info for my brother, he has a 1995 f250 powerstroke. manufactured april 95. he has 250,000 on truck. in the last couple weeks the truck has stalled and left him stranded twice. he had it towed to the dealer, and they said it was the ipr valve. can someone tell me where this valve is located. the dealer wants 900 for the part, i found one way cheaper online, but not sure if it's a job i should tackle. sorry if this topic has been beat to death and i'm the new guy who didn't do enough research before posting. I did do a search but nothing that really covered my need. thanks for any help that may be given.

It could be the CPS (Cam Position Sensor) located under the front end next to the fly wheel, they go bad. I would change it the IPR is located up top near the back fire wall a little to the left of center. It has a nut that can get loose and cause problems, the wire can get bad as well. One of those bad along with the EPR (exaust pressure regulator) can cause simular symptoms.
I cant get a pic posted, so maybe one of the other guys will post for me. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...t-numbers.html https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/3...-question.html
