Hey Ken, My wife insulted my truck! (It's an 86 F150 4wd, 4.9 six w/np435 trans,) She said I should turn it in under the "clunker" program. The rust and the fact that there is not a straight panel on it makes her think it is not beautiful. So, would it qualify as a clunker?

(BTW, it IS beautiful!)
If you're thinking about another EFF ONE FIDDY...it might qualify if you get a 4.6 3 valve...not a 4.6 2 valve. You would qualify for a Focus or a 4 cyl Fusion.
Think very hard about Marks' suggestion...a very expensive way to go...but worth a thought!!!
It would be a shame to get rid of all those dents and that rust!!!
I hate to say it but I'm also thinking about the C.A.R.S. program. Worse yet, and don't shoot me, it might be to get a Nissan Frontier. I can't afford anything that Ford makes, unless I get an Escape.
After looking at websites for Ford, Nissan, Toyota, and Honda, I'm starting to wonder if a few of the automakers cranked up their prices because of this C.A.R.S. thing. The '03 F150 XLT 4x4 that I used to have started with an MSRP around 27,500. Now it's about 34,000. Sorry Charlie, I can't justify spending that kind of money on a gas guzzler that's spend half of its life in a parking lot.
I could go used, but I'd still have to dump the Bronco. Either way that thought gets me teary-eyed.
Look on the bright side! if you keep the bronco you can spend lots of money on it that you'll never see again, that's what will happen if you buy a new truck anyways.
just my 2 cents.
