I have a blown no.5 fuse in my power distribution box, the amp is 15. What is the O2 sensor heater and what does it do and could it cause my 95 F-150 302auto to run rich. Thanks
It heats the O2 sensor so it reads properly until the engine and exhaust is fully heated up. If you never drive more than a few miles at a time this is very important because the motor won't reach full heat saturation.
I put the new fuse in and it actually isrunning the same and idling worse than before. I pulled new codes and it turns out I was reading my scanner wrong, they are 3 digit codes. The codes I pulled are 334, 538, 536 and 632. The 334 code is for EVP sensor is/was high, problem is it's a new sensor on top of the EGR valve.
have you taken the EGR loose and blocked off the port to see if the engine will idle normally? I dont remember if you have stated that you replaced the EGR valve or not.
Yeah, it's a brand new EGR valve. I'm at my wits end with thing. No, I haven't blocked the ports. I did clean out the upper intake plenum when I changed the TPS. When I took it to Ford their computer said EGR has insufficient flow, I figured that was my culprit and changed the EGR, EVP sensor O2 sensor, TPS. I'm going crazy trying to figure this out, also tried changing the PCM and MAF sensor and no change.
