I don't have one. I think the main reason the 6.0 guys do it is to keep the casting crud out of the EGR cooler. Plugging up the EGR cooler is not good according to them.

They make kits for the 7.3l and 6.4l also. I think it would be a good thing to run the filter setup for like 10k miles then remove it afterwards. Would be nice to get the crud out. I wouldn't want to leave a filter like that on long term. They say its not a restriction but thats BS it has to restrict coolant flow somewhat. It is a bypass filter though so it won't cutoff flow.

I had some of the same thoughts, dkf. I have seen gutted filters from the 6.0L & 6.4L owners, and judging by the sand & gunk in the filter, I would say that they have to be helping to some extent. But, I have never seen anything like this from the Triton modular side of the house.

Speaking of which, I have a Diesel Site 6.0L bypass filter kit sitting in the garage--from before my '06 F250 was stolen. Maybe I'll take a look through the kit & see how well it'd marry up to my '09 F350 w/V10.

I would be interested in if it will work or not. Like I said before I don't think a filter would be permantly needed. Maybe run it a little while to remove the junk and remove it. I recently drained a gallon of coolant out of the rad on my 74' and it looked like it still had a little sand in it. Had some aluminum in it for shure. That system has been flushed a few times over the years too.
