So I finally got some money and ordered me the exhaust I've been wanting. I went with the MBRP 4" aluminized and installed it today. I previously had stock exhaust with muffler delete and I really dont notice any difference except I like the sound better and EGT's are a tad lower. Anyways here's pictures.. excuse the messy garage, those are more money pits...
The kit was great, getting the new downpipe up to the turbo takes a little jiggling and manuvering. But at the pipe going over the axle its really close to the shock, and might be hitting here is a picture of what I'm saying, the hanger has a lot of play, any suggestions?
So all I need now is a VB and a DP tuner and my goal is achieved. Then I'm done, I swear...
You could install some split collars on both sides of the stock rubber mount on the MBRP hanger to keep it from sliding in or out. I've heated and bent some hangers on other vehicles as well.
Nice pics! I just happen to have the same exhaust that was delivered today. I know it isn't that difficult but when I pulled everything out of the box, it seemed a bit intimidating. I know it is just a matter of getting started and it was nice to get your pictures to use as a reference! Did you have to cut anything to length? My truck is 158 inch wheel base and I noticed in the instructions it mentioned cutting or leaving a section out depending on the length of the wheelbase.
I will be doing this job myself in 100 degree weather so I am not looking forward to it.
I would be interested to see how you overcome the excess play on the hanger that you showed?

For the record, those are the only differences (in bold) you *should* see with an aftermarket exhaust...
