I am having problems with my MAP sensor in my 2008 f-350 6.4 diesel.
The truck sputters and has no passing power, my local dealer has replaced the sensor several time's and has no idea why it is failing.
The dealer told me to run cetane booster also, but am still having issues.
My truck has been all stock since I started having these problems, I recently added the BD Diesel boost scoop intake kit. The truck runs fine for about a month then starts to run like crap. I have a 14000 # fifth wheel camper and plan on going to the races in bristol in august, last year I had a terrible time pulling a 10000 # fifth wheel up the hills. I can only imagine what it will be like this year.
Have you cleaned the filter yet? it is possilble that you over oiled the filter when you cleaned it and now the oil is on the sensor. This is common on the Duramax with after market filters...no so much Ford but its worth looking at.
The only aftermarket component on my truck is the air intake, I did state that it was the "MAP" sensor. I didn't think this sensor was mounted on the air intake, correct me if I am wrong. The dealer showed me which sensor he replaced and it was not on the air intake. I have been having this issue for over a year with the local garage not being able to help me anyway. I took it to a ford fleet center in Hamburg NY and they have been very helpful, but the problem keeps coming back. I have only had the intake kit for about a month, thats not the problem.
