I really can't quantify exactly what it is doing for me, maybe 1 mpg, as I don't have a lot of trips between that and the other mods. If you check my tech gallery, I list the mods against the mileage that they were installed at. I think lately I am benefiting from the break in increase these trucks get over time.
I've had several F350 trucks. Mileage is about the same regardless of the year. How I drive it make a LOT of difference. You really need to compare your driving style with somebody of similar style. the mpg on these trucks drops so fast with a little stop and go traffic.
Nornal around town driving is 13-14 mpg
This past 6 months I've been getting on freeway and driving 40 miles to work and returning 40 miles in the eveing. 80 miles round trip per day. all freeway. 3 traffic lights on one end and 2 stop signs at other end of drive. If I set cruise at 70mph I get 19-20 mpg
Towing any of my trailers. ie 4 horse gooseneck at 12,000lbs, Empty dump trailer 5000lbs or flat bed with Skid steer and Mini Excavator (either around 10,000 to 12,000 lbs) and I get 11.5 mpg around town or 12.-13 on the freeway at 70 mph. I got the same mileage towing a 4h LQ at 16,000lbs SLC to Yellowstone as I did towing an empty 4 horse trailer at 6.000 lbs Boise to SLC. 11.4 mpg vs 11.5 mpg So the weight on the freeway doesn't make a lot of difference in my mile.age
My Edge Evolution is always in the ecconomy mode. I have 3.5" cat back exhaust with a B&D Exhaust Brake, My tires are plus 1 size. 285/75/18s, which gives me a 35" tall tire vs the stocl 33". and I run them 70 psi all the time because of the weight of the trailers, Which I seem to tow several times a week.
Made another 420 mile round trip. This time I had discipline to peg it at 64 mph. The results? 22.5 mpg! That is a repeat of the first time and not a fluke.
It sure makes a lot of difference to slow down just a tad. I usually get 19 mpg traveling between 67 - 72 mph. I had no idea the old girl had potential for 22 mpg! Now the question is, how long can my wife tolerate people flying by us all the time? We only passed one guy and he was handicapped and ancient in years.
I had an Edge Juice with Attitude on a Duramax and my freeway mileage got worse. Many other Duramax owners report the same. Terribly unreliable device, too.
I just bought a 2000 CC PSD 4X4. The overhead computer says I'm doing 13.5. I think that's kinda low from what I'm reading. It does have a camper shell. Do you think that's it? I was thinking of putting on a tonneau cover. Anyone get good result from them. Any recommendations?
11.5 seems to be average on the hwy @ 70. Probably could get a little better if I didn't enjoy the truck so much and didn't have the extra wheels on the back.

What changes have been made from stock? Do you have oversized tires? What is your driving routine?
My mpg went down by exactly 1 when I put the camper top on. Every ford v-8 I have ever had going back to the '70s averaged about 10-11 mpgs., even that friggin diesel that I had, not just in trucks but the cars as well. The 302 was the worst.
2002 f350 srw 3.73, crew cab 4x4, with the 5.4 All stock..........best ive ever gotten was 15mpg on the highway which is what it always averages on the highway.....Not too good but i got 15mpg with a lifted 97 tacoma with a v6.......so im not complaining

Seems like the aerodynamics at hwy speeds have as much to do with economy as weight. (Seems like a loaded horse trailer gets the same mileage as an empty one - although I drove a little more conservatively with the loaded horses...)
Anyone notice much difference with a tonneau on an empty truck? As much as I used to make fun of people with the little low profile wing on the back of their tonneau, I wonder if having it there to break up the air flow over the top of the tail gate would help break the vacuum enough to help mileage noticably. (Or if it would be enough to justify getting picked on for having a wing on a truck.)
