Well my poor ol Ford has had its fair share of problems, but this is the first time I've been stranded. I'm getting a no start.I'm not sure what's wrong with it but I'm thinking FICM. It has fuel pressure and low pressure oil pressure. I guess it could be HPOP since I don't have a gauge for that. Also I can't hear the injector buzz when I turn the key on. It's been running crappy in the mornings when it's cold but it always starts and when it reaches operating temp it runs great so I don't know whats up. If you guys have any ideas I would appreciate the input greatly. Also it wasn't throwing any codes at all.
thanks,
Do you still have warraty left? 5 yrs / 100k on the engine. You might try disconnecting the ICP and inspecting the harness. If the ICP is bad, the truck will start with it disconnected.
How do you know you have good fuel pressure (and what is the pressure)?
The symptoms sure sound like injector(s) or FICM though .........
Thanks guys...yea just heard from Ford it sounds like its the FICM. They are putting a new one in and running some tests. Should have it back tomorrow. What blows my mind is the 24 hr turnaround. I would def. recommend Sour Lake Ford to anyone at this point.
i just brought mine to the dealer mine sounds exactly like your symptoms but they are telling me its probably the fuel pump under the drivers side bad or a stuck valve in it
Yes sir I drive a lot. I put 100000 on in a year and a month. I've been scoping out the 6.4 I think I want to hear some high mileage success stories before I pull the trigger. I love my 6 leaker when it runs.
