Yeah. Especially when you have to pay someone with a bigger truck to get you out!
Its bad enough when you drive into a mud hole and get stuck, but then see your buddy fly into the next one and get stuck side by side, with no one left to pull you out. And then have some mall-crawling bitch not try hard enough to pull us out cause he didn't want to hurt his new clutch.
Had to pay a guy with a Chevy K3500 $20 to pull me out. 454 engine.. 40" Swampers.. not a bad truck.. would have preferred a Ford 460 and 40" Swampers though.

20 bucks ain't bad considering I've had to call a tow truck... But anybody calls me within a reasonable distance I go give them a pull for free. I just like being able to get out and meet new people.

Yeah I usually pull out my buddies for nothing. Considering most of the time they'll help me if I need it. But if its somebody I barely know i'll charge a few bucks. Usually just enough for gas.
20 bucks wasn't bad. But it seemed a bit overkill because he only lived a mile and a half away. Most of the other guys that go wheelin' around here are kind of creepy.
There's this guy that always talks about teachin' me to wheel. He has some piece of crap bronco. I'm like hehe.. i'm good buddy. He drives like a drunken teenager.
One of the posts above, mentioned being pulled out by a Chevy. That reminded me of the first winter I had my current ride. The tires, were stock and nothing noted for good traction, imho. Anyhoo, as I was headed home, there was a real icy corner, turning onto my street. I hit it a bit too fast and started sliding across the intersection... and sliding toward me from my intended street, was a rusted out old 73 Chevy. Egad. Talk about freak out and move as fast as possible. I reached down, pulled her into 4 high, grabbed 2nd and punched it, hopping the curb and right into the neighbor's yard. The snow was hard packed, nearly perfect ice crystals. We two "sliders" missed each other, but I sank flatter than a pancake, right into that hard pack snow. Needles to say, I was stuck. The insult? Yeah.. the rusty old chevy pulled me out. But, he was at least, polite about it. Most folks gotta do the ole "razzzoooo!".
Another comment... and it's not to run anyone down, but man.. some nice pics of some cherry older Fords there. I almost hate to see them beat up in the pits, but like all else... one does what they does!!
Carlene.. your Bronco is looking SO SWEET! I left a couple notes in your garage, for ya.
I'll have to dig through my pics and see if I can find a couple semi-decent pics of off roading, not that I bury my "baby" in any mud holes anymore. Now, my old 64 ( in albums ) could go anywhere I'd point it, including mud. My chevy lovin' buddy, tried following me hunting and at the beginning of the road, there was a mud hole that bottomed me out, but a shift to granny and she crawled right through. My buddy's eyes were bugged out of his head, but said," I can go where any flippin Ford can go!". I pulled him the rest of the way through, when he too, bottomed out... but stayed.
Keep up the cool posts. I do love to watch ya'll breakin or especially NOT breaking your rigs.
TheTinian, thats all a rattlecan job isn't it? Looks pretty good!
Yes it is. Have to admit Im impressed too. It actually looks really good for spray paint. It is engine enamel though, so it is on there pretty thick...
hav24wheel damn good flex out of that truck! Thats one of the main things on my list is to try to get more flex out of mine.
I was suprized it made it to the top of the trailer, but if u look at the rear of the pickup, at the top of the bed compaired to the rear window, it shows how much frame flex there is. It seems to work well. I've been wheelin that frame for prob 6 years now, n havnt had any problems withit. I just check it over a lot for cracks, and loose rivets. I have replaced some rivets with bolts though.
I noticed the bed. Truck does show some signs of frame flex, but what do you expect really. I am very impressed that it made it to the top of the trailer. Great job.
Rockers in the mud look like they could use a little help. They appear fairly packed.
Was the thick stuff a problem for the Rockers????
Well as for the pitbulls, I love them a lot, but there down fall is the mud. They don't clean out as easy as my old TSLs. I wish I would have took some video of me in that hole. They need to have some wheel speed to clean out, but once u get them spinning they clean out great. They where tossin som$e huge clumps of mud in the air. Its just takes a heavy foot, n some hp. But all in all I like them better than my old TSLs
