Hello,'
I have a 2005 Excursion and the A/C keeps going off while driving. I have to turn the control to off, wait a few minutes and turn it back on. My ford dealership changed the evaporator but that did no do the trick. I can't get it to happen when they are in the truck with me. Could the compressor be going bad? or is the switch or wiring going bad? When the problem happened today I popped the hood and i turned the a/c off and back on and i did not hear the compressor click. Should it click like it is engaged? As you can see I need some help if possible.. Thanks Randy H
I had the same thing happen on the suburban I had prior to my Excursion. It was the compressor. It kicked itself on and off. They diagnosed it very quickly and replaced it with no more problems. I would have them check the compressor which was one of the first things they should have done. I believe I would find a new mechanic.............
let me be more clear with mine, it works on all speeds but sometimes it will shut off when i apply the brakes then stay off for awhile unless i put the fan speed on high, then it comes back on, but not with the other speeds.
