Mickey Thompson Baja ATZs

I finally got my tires in and installed! They really changed the look of the truck - looks much more aggressive now. I went with 285/75/16 Load Range D which have a load rating of 3305lbs per tire compared to 3415 for the normal load range E. Initial impressions are a bit more tire noise than the Firestone Transforce ATs which were on there. They also have a lot less 'wander' - may be the slightly wider width - but it's a lot more stable so far. My speedometer is now off by 3mph so it looks like a tuner is in my future - not a bad thing! I like the way they look on the wheels - not bulged out - just looks right. I'm at stock height and with normal driving there is no rubbing at all - we'll see what shows up when I have more miles on them.

Here are a few pics:

Thanks! They are 285/75/16 - which is similar to a 33x11.50. So far they handle really well - they have 20/32's of tread depth so I expected them to actually squirm a bit but they turn and brake nicely. I'm taking it on the road this weekend so that will be a good test for them - variety of roads and speeds.

yep, same size I run, just a more aggressive tread. I did look at those and they had good reviews, just curious how they are in the rain.

Well - we had a serious thunderstorm and got a few inches of rain yesterday afternoon. After work I went driving and these tires did fantastic! No traction issues and went through puddles of water with no hydroplaning effects at all - I could tell I was going through it since water was spraying up! Still better driving dynamics than the Firestones - wander is almost gone - I think what is left is due to the crown of the road now. There is a bit of road noise - but it's very slight and is a small price to pay for what I need these tires to be able to do. Road trip on Saturday so if anything changes I'll let you all know.

They look good on the your truck. I hope they last though. I put a set of M/T's on my EX ,got about 25,000 out of them. Sweet looking EB ,when the last kid is gone selling the EX and going to get one.
