I`m hoping it`ll be ready in a few weeks. The alt belt is now too long since the smog pump "fell off". If I coulda, I would gone over the entire engine compartment with a toothbrush and degreaser. I love a clean engine, even knowing it`ll be filthy after a lil wheeling. Once I`m sure it`s running ok, I`ll set the valve lash. As for the howell, I did call them and they can build a system for it, but I never expected the cracked head issue, and may still look into it in the future, but it`s a lil pricey at roughly $1200.00. I`ll just be happy to have it on the road again, and without any heating issues.
Well it`s running! Sorta... Can`t get it to stay running long enough to see if it`s gonna overheat. I rebuild the carb and I think it`s a little "off" but not too sure. It`s loud as hell with the open headers too! It`s gonna be pretty spunky, seems to make more power with the duraspark and headers fo sho! Now to figure out carb adjustments and timing to get it to stay running...
