Does anyone know what part sits right behinds the upper intake plenum on a 95 302. It's got one little vac hose coming off the top and 2 big hoses coming off either side of it. It looks like 1 tube comes down and around to the black cannister in the front of engine bay on the passenger side. I believe it's EGR or emissions related, but I'm not sure. I will try to describe better with a little input, But this is the best I got right now. Thanks

It sounds like you are referring to the air diverter valve for the thermactor air injection system.

 

I wish I could give ya'll a picture, it's so far back and close to the firewall I couldn't get to it to get a picture. Does the air diverter valve fail and could it cause a code 45? This is for my 95 F-150 302 auto, the other code 45 is coil 1, 2 or 3 failure. Where are these coils, I know where my ign coil is, but I didn't know we even had other coils on our trucks other than coil springs.

 

The diverter valve itself probably won't throw a code, but the solenoid that controls the vacuum fed to the valve can. The TAD and TAB solenoids are mounted to the side of the ignition coil bracket along with the EVR solenoid.

 

See I haven't replaced those yet, the EVP was replaced when I got the truck but the TAD and TAB solenoids haven't been. Man I'm just tired of throwing parts at with no change and my wallet can handle it either. Are those what are considered to be coil 1,2 or 3 or is that something completely different. thanks

 

I think those are coil 1 and coil 2, but I don't know. You can test the solenoids to see if they are functioning before just going and buying new ones. It could be a wiring issue causing the problems instead of defective parts.

 

I've went through all the wires I could get to and I didn't find any bad ones so far, I'll pull those out today and see if I can get them tested somewhere. Thanks for the help on this
