Truck is a 2006 F250
I want to change out the stock CD player with an in dash GPS unit.
The more research I do the more uncertain I get..
I was originally steered to the pioneer due to it's user friendliness.
Then I find out that only the Z series w/DVD is out right now ...I was looking at the x series with everything except the DVD but OK, maybe I'll go for the $1600 installed w/Sat radio for the top of the line Pioneer.
Then I hear on here and from another installer that the Kenwood has a better GPS.
OK, maybe I'll go that route..
Then I see the Garmin user reviews on best buy etc.. that the controls and menus really suck making you jump through hoops to use it. And, looking at their web site, I see they do not make a CD/GPS in dash unit..
I read a lot on here but really dont know much about the Ford factory unit and if that is even an option for me.
What I want is GPS/CD/AMFM/Sat Radio
I could care less about the DVD..
Maybe I need to get an in dash without the GPS and go portable but I really wanted a built in everything..
any advice appreciated..
I have it worked out after all..found a shop with all the brands set up so I can go and work them myself and pick one out. Most of the shops around me don't have much set up to check out and operate.
This place seems to be pretty good with lots of stereos on display.
Hey, I went with the Kenwood DNX6140.
Boots up way quicker than the pioneer.
the unit really rocks. so far, so good. I like it. got the XM hooked up too.
