ac clutch noise

my 92 ford van 5.0 302
compressor pump is noisy
is that supposed to be like that
does that mean the the clutch is going bad
what can i do a about that
it has good cold air coming out all leaks fixed

Probably not the clutch as once it's engaged, it usually holds tight.

Can you describe what you are hearing? It's probably a compressor going out unfortunately.
