rescuebob. This happened to me once in 28 years. As far as I know the oil pump is sucking the oil through a hose--that is, the pump is actually several inches above the oil pool. It would be better were the pump in the pool, perhaps, or would it get too hot that way?

What's in a name? The Purolator name is apparently owned by more than one company. The Purolator references in this site are for aerospace and industrial applications. Arvin Meritor is the company that makes Purolator Car and Truck filters and Motorcraft. Arvin Meritor is a spin-off of Rockwell (axles, transmissions, Space Shuttle, etc.)that also makes Gabriel shocks. I used to work for Rockwell.
