been having some issues and have a question on what I see when running my AE tool
Stock volume fuel desired is about 5 at idle jumps to 10 in gear and hits 30 when power braked
My tune volume is 10 at idle 15 in gear and hits 30 when power braked.
My truck has the boost tubes off and the valve covers removed so I can't really drive it around. but doesn't it seem strange that I would have 1/3 more fuel at idle then stock. My milage is poor I only get about 9-10.
Any thoughts, what do others have since its tough to compare when you only have 1.
early 99 powerstroke AB split shot injectors with upgraded nozzles.
I don't know for sure, but I would think the MAP sensor needs to read some boost in order to get the PCM to start fueling. Try putting the boots back on and see what happens. What chip are you running?
I have been working with Bill from Powerhungry. My concern is that I am getting 1/3 more fuel at idle then stock programming. Seems like a waste of fuel and at some point a wash on the cylinder walls. I am reinstalling my hypertech programming now and see how it stacks up. then I might put it all back together and run it down the street.
So you have a shorter pulsewidth at idle with a tune.
Unless you are seeing white smoke out the tailpipe, you are probably fueling the same at idle as you would in the stock tune. Basically what's happening is your tuning is fueling the same amount in less time. It's a quicker injection.
