i dont recommend this for any 03/04 owners. bbk says they will fit, and technically the left one does, but you have to mangle the egr tube, and there is no room to work with. the guys doing the work got just the driver's side done yesterday.....and it they had it almost 12 hours. no rusted studs, but i did have to replace the starter as one of the studs broke when removing. now i get to drive around with one header and one manifold until i can find time to get the other one in. hopefully it won't create a problem.
i guess the 97-02's have a different chassis setup, so they are easier to do. had i gone to the dealer, their protocol is to pull the motor and install that way. i plan on just having the oem manifold reinstalled, and eturning the headers. full refund if within 90 days.
update.....these DO NOT fit 03's as stated on bbk's site. dealer tried installing RH header, and it hits the frame on the way down. in the end, i will have stock manifolds, and a lot less money. don't think summit will take them back w/out hw and obviously mounted for fit. have emails into both summit and bbk.
If you paid with a credit card, you should have some consumer protection. If Summit won't take them back, then I'd contact your credit card to reverse the payment. Then sell the headers and try to make some money back.
just heard from bbk. they are going to tell summit to give me a full refund, and allow me to keep the headers and sell them locally to try to recoup some of my losses. it won't even out, but at least they are trying.
even if there is a set, i'm leaving it alone!!! it was actually summits fault. their ebay ad said 97-03, but they sent me p/n 3516, which is 97/98 only. it said p/n in their auction, which i found out after, but the title clearly stated 97-03.
