EZ way to tell a Warner 4 speed from a New Process 435 4 speed without leaving the cab.

Look towards the top of the shift tower. If there are two pins directly opposite each other protruding from the tower...it's a New Process 435.

No pins: Warner.

The New Process 435 4 speed uses a shift lever retainer cap that has two notches on it. The cap is retained to the shift tower by the two pins.

The Warner shift lever retainer cap threads on/off.
