you plan on running a NP-205 married behind your transmission?, i am going to assume yes,
if so yes a NP-205 transfer case will fit behind a AOD or E4OD
what i found with my truck, we had to get a 4x4 extension piece that goes from the transmission to the transfer case, also we had to get my AOD converted to 4x4, thus the longer tail shaft had to be put in, plus we got them to rebuild and toughen up the AOD with extra clutches and a mild shift kit,
also the NP-205 was not used by Ford in the 80s, but luckily the bolt pattern did not change,
there is one slight easy mod, all you have to do is grind out a notch in the extension housing so the transfer case shifter clears, simple mod, took me a few minutes, and was easy, there was lots of aluminum in the spot that needs to be notched, no problemo,
