Synthetic?

Don't you all have it figured out by now? If you don't run synthetic Amsoil in your engine it will leave you stradned along the highway when its 30 below zero. In all seriousness the guy who said not to run synthetic is probably basing his knowledge on conversations at the coffee shop. If you want to spend the money on the synthetic go for it. It will give at least a little more protection and allow for longer oil change intervals if you choose to use it that way.
