guys my truck starts to shake between 45 and 60 mph. It doesnt do it at all before 45 or after 60. and it only does it on acceleration. Ive been told its the tires need balanced, drive shaft, front end, injectors...and i have no idea what it is. Have any suggestions??
i have a 03 f250 6.0L crew cab 125k with the 100th anniversary cenntenial package.
also is there anything that i should avoid doing to the truck?
What kind of exhause would you recommend?
Check your allignment...Is it just in the front end? I know on a front wheel drive unit it would most likely be the driveaxle or wheel hub assembly. You might also have a brake pad coming un-seated and lodging against the rotor....is it pulling from one side more than the other...have you felt the wheel...is one side hotter than the other?

it needs rotars b/c it shakes when you apply the brakes and pulls to one side. there is some play in the steering wheel. So i know it needs new rotars.
could that be causing the shaking?
Sounds like a tire balance issue or possibly a belt separating in a tire. Drive shaft is a possibility, but not likely. I would rotate the wheels and see if the issue follows those tires. That would at least give an idea of what you're looking for.
As for the brakes, you might not need new rotors. The brakes may have been overheated in the past and caused some uneven baking, which can cause the pulsing. I would go with new pads and try to have the rotors turned before buying new ones.
You will have play in the steering wheel. The Super Duties are known for that. It can be a combination of ball and heim joints wearing, but the steering box is also not the tightest either. There are posts on how to make steering box adjustments, and there are posts on how they screwed up their steering by adjusting the steering box. Personally, I don't think it's worth it for the small gain.

So i took it yesterday and had my mechanic buddie drive it and he says he is 90% sure its a transmission problem. That it shakes when it shifts into 4 gear. He said to try some Lucas Oil Tranny Fix....so i guess ill see if that will work.
There are a couple (if not one at least) Former Ford Transmission Techs on this forum....I'd ask them to weigh in before adding something foreign to the Mercon SP mix...start a new post ....Transmission slipping in 4th? That may get you seen on their radar...
