I have an 04 F250 6.0l replaced all filters and oil about 700 miles ago, hauled a load of asphalt in the bed yesterday and after all was empty the truck is sputtering at idle and then around 40-45mph the engine shakes real bad. Have checked to see if any codes are there is none at all. Any suggestions would be very welcomed. Thanks guys!
EGR hasn't been cleaned since ive owned it, had 70000 on it when bought now has 82,000 miles. Have not checked the plenum yet have been in my work van all day..
With the key off you can unplug the egr valve connector which should leave it in the closed position (if it's not to curded up
). This will throw a cel but hopefully the symptoms you are describing will go away. That may help narrow things down.
I used my SCT tuner to see if any codes were thrown, and i did unplug the egr connector and tried it to work which is 20miles away and it still did it...
Ok so ive cleaned the egr valve and reset the computer and done the relearn, the truck is still sputtering and around 2,000 rpm the truck shakes like crazy and then will stop past 2,000 rpms. I have not done the Italian tune up, is there anything else that this could be? Any suggestions?
