I have been looking for headers for my 2005 F350 5.4L engine for over a year. As some of you know, I tried to get both Doug Thorley Headers and Doug's Headers (Petronix Performance Products) to manufacture headers for our Super Duty 5.4L engines. While we almost closed the deal with Doug Thorley Headers, they backed out at the last minute. So, that left me with continuing my search for compatible headers designed for the F150.
There is a company named OBX Headers that makes what I believe to be a very high quality header that may be compatible with our 5.4L engine. They are made of 309SS, have 1/2" flanges, and are fully welded inside and outside of the flange and collector. These headers are not junk. They are very reasonable in price and readily available on eBay.
OBX makes three style headers for our 5.4L engine... short tube, mid tube, and long tube. The pricing is $300, $300, and $499 respectively. The long tube headers for the 2005 and up 5.4L engine are currently not available but I have talked to the US distributor and they will be available soon. For the money, I think that these are the best value on the market today...
That is a nice looking set of headers, and not a bad price. Let us know if they fit, and if they make much of a differance in h.p., I wouldn't mind putting a set of those on my '08.
I have bought two different headers for f250 first set was edlebrock they were junk but I did have good luck with the jba headers and cold air kit and a chip the old 250 was fast all my work was done by a shop in glen burnie MD call Justin Performance Center best deals I could find and did great work

I'm 99.9% confident that the short tube headers will fit. I'm planning to replace the entire exhaust system so routing new hi-flow cats and pipes should not be an issue with the short tube headers. However, I want the benefit of long tube headers so I'm not as confident that they will clear the transmission and frame. If they don't fit, I'm going to offer them to my next door neighbor who has a late model F150 and is into Ford performance vehicles.
My 2002 does NOT have an EGR either. I too would like more info on whether these headers work, because my manifolds leak like a *******.
headers are on and they where a pain but i get them they will require some modding but not much a torche can handle exshaust note did increase a little but i will give the pcm a day or 2 to configure but other then that not back so far for 159
The guy at summit in tech service said these headers fit 02 and older 5.4l.
the summit headers are made by pacesetter call there tech center and you will find the only difference is the egr piping but they might require some modding but not a bad peice for the price some style flange as the gibsons compair them on summit

So you think those shortys will fit an 08 f-250 5.4L? I looked at my engine today and I'm not sure if I want to tackle this project. Is it all that hard replacing headers on a f-250?

Installing headers may void your engine warranty... check with your dealership. On a relatively new truck like yours, it should be pretty easy. The exhaust manifold bolts should come out very easily. The shorty headers will be the easiest to install but you may have to have your local muffler shop do some pipe fabrication if you plan to keep the OEM cats. The long tube headers will definitely be harder and will require more complex pipe fabrication by the muffler shop and most likely aftermarket cats.
