$1750.00 for this pile? Someone's gotta be dreaming!

"Rare Flareside box" is an understatement, since it's off a 1980/91.

Since it has what's left of the XLT's Race Track mouldings, it originally was a short bed Styleside.

Flaresides were not available with Race Track mouldings.

"Nice interior" is also an understatement considering those bucket seats.

The bumper is tweaked. Good luck finding a replacement bumper and those bumper pads.

The mirrors are incorrect, as are the rusty styled wheels. It's prolly rusty everywhere else.

It's a horrible cobbled up mess, barely worth $175.00! PASS!

But this is the rare green and red Christmas edition. That's gotta be worth something.

Pass. The owner is a dumazz or a liar. Avoid both types.

Why waste money trying to fix this rolling pile of miseries?

You can fly out here to LA LA Land and buy a nice RUST FREE original for around 2 grand...or less...and drive it home.

1956's and older are popular. The later stuff is in little demand here and goes wanting.

For example, last year a pal of mine bought an all original one owner, loaded 1974 F100 Ranger Styleside, with a 360/C6 and w/factory A/C, for 800 bucks out of an ad in the Penny Saver.

I've seen trucks with those style of beds on them and they do look decent (when fixed up), but that one don't look like it's worth $50.

Or blind. This guy clearly has no idea what he has. I noticed that he didn't say what engine is in it...probably because he doesn't know.

P.S.- "Started refinishing" is usually death for anything I'm looking at buying. Historically, this has meant that the owner ran across more problems than they could handle...and the ones they did try to fix have more than likely been jury rigged. I'd rather have a really rough original than a fairly nice unfinished project...at least things are where they are supposed to be for the most part. No frankensteined wiring, mismatched parts, shoddy repairs that have made things worse, etc...

Every time you SoCal guys say this, I cry a little inside.

I was born on the wrong side of the country. I can't find a rust-free long bed over here now...period...let alone a rust-free complete, original, driveable truck for $800!

Go ahead and rub salt in our east-coast wounds...our fenders have all they can hold.
