Why waste money trying to fix this rolling pile of miseries?
You can fly out here to LA LA Land and buy a nice RUST FREE original for around 2 grand...or less...and drive it home.
1956's and older are popular. The later stuff is in little demand here and goes wanting.
For example, last year a pal of mine bought an all original one owner, loaded 1974 F100 Ranger Styleside, with a 360/C6 and w/factory A/C, for 800 bucks out of an ad in the Penny Saver.
Or blind. This guy clearly has no idea what he has. I noticed that he didn't say what engine is in it...probably because he doesn't know.
P.S.- "Started refinishing" is usually death for anything I'm looking at buying. Historically, this has meant that the owner ran across more problems than they could handle...and the ones they did try to fix have more than likely been jury rigged. I'd rather have a really rough original than a fairly nice unfinished project...at least things are where they are supposed to be for the most part. No frankensteined wiring, mismatched parts, shoddy repairs that have made things worse, etc...

Every time you SoCal guys say this, I cry a little inside.
I was born on the wrong side of the country. I can't find a rust-free long bed over here now...period...let alone a rust-free complete, original, driveable truck for $800!
Go ahead and rub salt in our east-coast wounds...our fenders have all they can hold.
