Still having tranny issues

I have posted several times over that last 6 months about my tranny issues. The dealer has had my tranny out of my truck 3 times and has put over $5000 in it in parts and labor and its still not right. Before I picked it up the last time they assured me it was ready.
Now It shifts good all accept going from 2nd to 3rd, it grinds. If I put my foot on the clutch and put it too the floor and wait about 1 second I can shift without it grinding but if I just shift like any other gear it grinds, It goes in, but it grinds. Also, when Im driving in 3rd gear, say around town slowly, If I let off the gas the shifter jerks twords me, then when I give it gas again it jerks away. It only does this in 3rd gear. The shifter moves about 1-2 inches twords me and away from me as I put my foot on the gas and off.... Im gunna take it back and make them fix it AGAIN but I have 15 cord of wood I need to get done by hunting season and Im running out of time because they have had my truck all summer. Im gunna have to do the wood first and then bring the truck down twords the end of summer. This is getting WAY TOO OLD!! im really sick of messing with it.....
Please excuse my venting but....

a manual tranny is so basic inside...sounds like a syncro is worn if its chirping trying to get into gear..
next time u take it in, ask to see it dissambled, so u can inspect whats worn..
i wonder if they are actualy donig any repairs when u take it back each time now...
as far as the shifter moving, thats pretty common, if the shifter only moves around when in 3rd gear that would be odd...

The original problem was the 2nd gear synchro, The truck would not down shift from 3rd to 2nd without being stopped, if it was moving, it would grind and not go into gear. So they pulled the tranny and had the truck a month
I got it back, shifting was knotchy in every gear, drove about 100 miles and it would no longer go into any gear, they came and got it with a flat bed and hauled it 45 miles back to the dealer, had it another month and called, It was done.
I picked it up, shifted the same as last time, slightly knotchy but it did shift ok. Drove it about 200 miles and same thing, It would no longer go into gear and was stuck in 2nd. I got it out of gear into neutral and thats where it stayed. They came with the flat bed again and picked it up. Had it another month and called and said they were sure it was ready this time. They said it was improperly shimmed the first two times.
Since I picked it up this time it has grinded going into 3rd gear. Everything else seamed ok but It would grind going into 3rd, not every time. If I shift slowly and at low rpm's it goes into 3rd fine but If I dont hold my foot on the clutch, and wait for the rpms to drop it will grind. I took it back, they had it a week, they called and said it was fine, just keep driving it and it will get better, Well Its not getting any better, if anything its getting worse.
I have paid 7 payment and owned the truck 6 1/2 months and have only had it in my possession for 3 months. All the rest of the time it has been at the dealer. Im gunna give them one more chance to fix it and then im gunna be pissed. I have been calm about this entire thing but this is getting old!!
I would find a good reputable private trans shop in your area (not a major chain trans shop) and tell them your problems and give it a once over and see what they say. I would also tell the dealer your taking it to another shop and THEY will be reimbursing you for the bill. Why should you keep taking it to the Ford dealer when they obviously can't fix it? Sounds to me like their milking the warrenty for all its worth. I did that with the 5spd auto in the explorer and the trans got fixed right by the small reputable private shop and the dealer cut us a check to cover most of the repair costs. (Was some mileage on the the dealers "Rebuild" thats why they didn't cover all of it) Its been my experience dealers absolutely suck when it comes to working on a trans. Take it to someone who actually has some knowledge and experience with transmissions. They are not rocket science but you still need to know what your doing to work on them.
Another option is to demand a Ford reman as they had their chance at repairing yours.
It does sound like a bad main shaft bearing.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I have delt with the service manager through out all of this, Im gunna go down and go right to the person I bought the truck from, I think he was a manager. Im gunna explain to him what has happened and tell him I want one of three things either:
1. I want a new or factory remanufactured transmission installed in this truck OR
2. I want this truck taken to a transmission specialist and totally rebuilt, with a warranty OR
3. I want them to keep this truck and give me back my money, or allow me to use what I paid for this truck as credit to purchase another truck on the lot
I think thats fair, I have been all summer trying to get this truck figured out and I have alot of work that requires a truck. I need to get some of this done and with the truck in the shop all the time nothing is getting done. I have had enough!!
