I was out looking at about 70 acres of woodland and I needed to use 4x4 due to the heavy rains we had last night. I'm sure y'all can guess were this is heading. I went to shift into 4x4 and it didn't engage in either setting. Now I'm not totally surprised about giving that it is a known issue with the ESOF to do that if it isn't used fairly often(out of 3 yrs, I've only used it once successfully, this would have been the second time). Y'all can add another person to victim list of the ESOF.
To top it all off, I get home and was taking the mares across the creek, cell phone gets tangled up in the lead ropes and off it goes into the creek. I've got it drying off now with the battery out, but I don't have much hope of it making it.
tex, i've seen this problem before, Chances are the shift motor on the transfer case or the wiring going to it is caked with mud jaming the motor or corroding the connections.
If its under warranty they will hook you up, I had my phone in the storage container of my SeaDoo and duh...it got wet. I took it back for warranty and said...uh, it just stopped working?
Got a new blackberry, well I didn't lie...it did just stop working, just forgot to mention the jumping waves on the SeaDoo .

Good luck with your 4x4
You know what, that isn't half bad. If anybody can pretend ignorance and stupidity it is me(go easy on the jokes now, I'm fragile right now).

Just a lesson i've learned on this.....DO NOT say it just stopped working. A lot of phone insurances won't replace it if it stops working (thats wear and tear and you have to take it up with the manufacture). Say you ran over it or threw it against the wall but never "just stopped working". Your phone insurance company must have been legit, most aren't

A bunch of years ago my daughter chewed on my wife's phone. We had no insurance or anything on it because what could possibly happen to it? Well, the drool got into the charger port and the litmus paper (i.e. water detector) on the battery turned a different color. Well, they told the wife it got wet and she had to pay for a new one. She raised her voice slightly saying "you mean to tell me that you aren't going to replace my phone?" The tech says I'll be right back and comes out with a new one. "You're all set. Have a nice day." I wish it was that easy for me to get stuff replaced.
I've been told, but haven't tried it, that if you put a water-damaged phone in a bag or container of rice and seal it that the rice will draw out the moisture and will work again. Just what I have been told, maybe give that a try? I don't know the length of time either, sorry, but if you do it-let me know if it works. I'm curious, but not enough so to dunk my cell and test this theory!

Oddly enough, my phone did not shut off after being submerged in the creek. However, I can tell you that what you have been told does work because I guy that helps me out at the barn had his phone take a swim with him in the pool and he did that and his still works. Biggest difference between the two phones is that his shut off right after being submerged, mine didn't . I think that's what did mine in.
