Dully trucks and excursion with lookalike duals are not one and the same...they are JUST NOT. For starters, the axles are different, bed can take fifth wheel, springs are different, blocks are different etc
Less wear on rear tire? correct, but that also means less MPG and tires are like 150-200 bucks a piece (mine lasted 65K plus) versus 65K miles with more contact surface area on duals...do the math.
Now, looking cool with some/no benefit is up on the menu, I totally understand that aspect. go for it...

DRW handles better and is more stable.
Even more so when towing.
That is the biggest benefit.
With an axle swap( to a D80 ) and new springs, yes it is the same as a DRW pickup.
