Can you tell us a little more about your vehicle (i.e. year) and symptoms (i.e. what does "not working" mean?)?
Here is a link to an air conditioning modification procedure on my website. The last two pages in the PDF file have some schematics which may be helpful for you. http://www.truck-mods.com/Air%20Cond...ff%20Valve.pdf
I have an 03 Excursion with a 7.3. It didn't come on when I started the truck. The face was dark, no temp. reading. Tried pushing buttons-nothing. It was blowing warm air from the defroster. Left for work last night and it was working???? Now I'm confused. Thanks for the reply.
You're not the only one with that issue. I bet your stereo was not lit up and would not work, either.
Mine and several others have had that issue, and it seems a little random with no solid solution to-date. I'll try to find the thread I started on the same subject so you can see the responses I got. Mine has been working perfectly for the past week or so, but was really glitchy when I first got the vehicle a month ago.
Thanks for the reply Pete. It did this about a year ago, but came back on after I shut the truck off and started it back up. Ran some errands during the day and it never worked. Left for work last night and it was working fine. Kind of hard to trouble shoot when it does this. Oh, and I love the 6637 cover I got from you awhile back, thanks alot!
Your welcome, and thanks for the feedback. It's always good to hear about a customer's satisfaction after the purchase!!
I found the thread I mentioned, but it was more focused on the stereo head unit and not the AC, except one of the guys mentioned a potential link to the AC settings and a timed delay power-down feature that may be connected with the two systems.
Forgot to mention that the stereo head unit was working fine. Seems a little stange that they would have the AC on the delay power-down feature. Thanks for the links.
2005 F350 CC 6.0L, I was having the same problem this morning coming home from work, blank EATC, everthing else worked fine, including stereo. I searched around the forums for some time when I found a fix or at least a way to turn it back on, turn the headlight switch to auto and then off, it should come back on. Its seemed a little crazy but it worked, it makes me wonder how some of you guys figure this crap out.
Interesting on the headlight switch fix. I have a 2003 Excursion 6.0 PSD and just had the same "blank EATC" problem, again. (a few times in the last couple years)
I tried to restart several times and no luck. Then I pulled it into my garage, shut down and restarted and it came on. The difference this time was that the dark garage caused the headlights to come on (was in Auto position) which sounds like the same system related problem you guys identified.
