Thanks for the info, Brian. How do you like your Stealth CCV filter unit?

I hope my comments are taken wrong... I'm interested in the product design features myself... I just hate to see teaser pics like that which don't help anything and cause customer frustration.

If I were serious about purchasing it, "patent pending" or not, there is no way I would ever commit cash until I could get a clearer view of what I was buying. In my mind, a blurry picture like that with a price tag is a lame approach to marketing, regardless of how good the product may be.

If I have time to stop by the dealership I'll ask if they have one. I didn't see it either, nor did I ask how much it is.

What kind of filters are they using on that thing? I tried a DIY canister and route back to the intake but I apparently didn't have good enough filters because I still got oil back into the system, although no where near as much as stock.

For those interested in the unit Stealth Auto is selling, it is made by a member on a few of the other PSD boards. If you want his info PM me.

NCHornet has been making that kit for years.

Since I hear all the grumblings of CA trying to start emissions testing in the next year or two, I'm re-thinking my modification path. Rather than have at it with reckless abandon, I'm trying to keep thinks looking somewhat OEM and not set any codes (hard or soft). CA hooks directly into the OBD II port during the test, so there's no hiding or finding a "friendly" test site. Actual emissions are only a small portion of the test. Since I just found out I'll be in CA for another 3 1/2 years or so, I'm going to have to compromise to keep "The Man" happy so I can keep my registration (not that $400/yr isn't enough to drive in CA). It's not cheap, but here's the one I'm probably going to get (when I do get one, there are a couple of things to do first before I do the CCV mod):

http://www.dieselperformance.com/ind...uct/index/152P

It's definitely more expensive, but is tight, compact and hard to notice unless you know what you're looking for. Just what I need to get the job done while making "The Man" think that he's won!

Yep, but he is actually NChornet (no capital 'h'). He hasn't had any activity since Oct '06 though on FTE.

That $335 price tag, though, will make you rethink performing Guzzle's dumpster diving, tomato can mod, i think i would rather take my chances with the Stealth $99 kit

This is one mod on my list of to-do's. I don't want to wait until after CA starts emissions testing us, but I don't know if I want to game the system before I see how stringent they are going to be. Sure the kit is $99, but after a "failed" inspection and having to go to a test only facility for another shot at it, the time off of work, the added fees for the failure/re-test (as well as maybe having to take it off and scrap it) can add up.

I guess I could just remove it for each test, but I don't know if I want to start a list of everything to take off/put back on for the testing. I did that on my old truck and that got old after awhile (plus the wife didn't see much purpose in it if I had to keep taking it off). Almost more hassle than it's worth, plus all the labor time involved that I could be spending with my family...
