miles on Terra grapplers

I was curious how many mile some of you have gotten on your Nitto Terra Grapplers before having to replace them?

I've got nearly 40k on a set on our Expedition. They have been on less than 2 years and are cracking between all the tread blocks. This vehicle gets driven everyday and never hardly sits in the sun (garage(home) or parking garages(work)). They have also gotten MUCH louder. I have BFG MT KM2s on my Super Duty (30k miles) and the Nittos are just as loud as the BFGs. I'm less than impressed and have been looking for a reason to take them off. The mileage is good, but the cracking makes me very uncomfortable.

What would cause the cracking? The only common thing that I can see between all of you is that you are from the southern US. Would heat cause this to happen? I'm not a tire guy, so I'm curious.
