Hey guys my friends got an F450 service truck with a V10 and it died while it was idling yesterday and wouldn't start. Check the fuel pressure and it has 45 psi. 20 minutes later fired right up and run for about 5 seconds and died like you shut the key off. Now won't start at all. Hooked up my snap on scanner and for some reason it won't communicate with it. Kinda hard to diagnose with no codes. Grrrr... any ideas? Seems to hit off of carb cleaner
Already checked the cigarette fuse it was fine and getting power. Check engine light is on when you turn the key on, what does that mean? Checked all fuses and swap some relays still no go. I suppose I'll get a schematic tomorrow and see why the hell my scanner wont work. Just to make sure tried my brother's 01 V10 and the scanner works fine so I'm pretty sure it's not it. Tried cracking the throttle a little bit still the same.
