In middle of engine swap its back in and drained and has a quart of ATF back in it......just not sure about the sure amount....

That's what I needed to know. If the tranny is empty then you need to put 4 qts in it and start it. Add about 4 more qts. and check it. Add and check till it is at the proper level. Don't add more than 4 qts. without starting or it will run out the vent tube. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Ok are we talking about the tranny fluid. I am talking just about the Torque Converter itself. ?

I am correct though that you do have to drain it seperately correct....
