How much does your truck weight in its current configuration.
Mines a 86 F250 4x4 HD 4 speed 460 regular cab and its right at 5350lbs
Which I think is a lot so just wondering what some others rigs weight.
Your scale is off. i would bet it is at least 500lbs heavier. My 86 f250 reg cab 4x4 6.9 4spd. With one fuel tank empty and one half, mine weighs in at 6250. I know my diesel does not weigh 900 more than a big block
Rolled my truck accross the scales at the scrap yard the other day. 1986 F-250 HD, Extra-Cab, 4x4, 460, T-19, 35" Mudders, and bed box in the back with a few tools and assorted crap. Weighed in at 6,210 lbs, without any passengers.
I realize this is an old posting, but I had to comment.
I was searching for the weight to my 86 Ford, F250, xtracab, 4x4 diesel when I saw this forum. I figured it would be close, but under my Crewcab. That is...until I read this forum.
I've weighed my 86 F350, CREWCAB, Diesel, 4X4 (Dana 60), with a C-6 at a local scrap metal yard. Not sure about my fuel at the time, but I know I wasn't full on both tanks. (Diesel fuel is approximately 8lbs per gal.)
The truck weighed approximately 6100 lbs (no passengers). I had some hand tools in the cab as well.
Sorry, Diesel_Brad, but I think the scale your using is off.
P.S. My 93 Lightning is heavy for a F150 (#4916 of 5276). Bear in mind that everything was heavy duty on the truck. SVO did not lightweight the truck with the exception of an aluminum driveshaft. The 4 speed trans is heavy too. The truck weighs 1400lbs more than a 93 GT Mustang. To resist flexing, they even made the frame of a Lightning is greater thickness than a standard F150. It's tough to compare it to another truck and say it's an F150.
Please do not take offense to my reply. That is not my intention. Just an F.Y.I
