What type of lube do you run in the front diff? I figured it was the standard gear lube like normally ran in the rear, but the owners manual for my 95 call for "4x4 Gear Lube" for the front and the standard oil in the rear. Just wondering what everyone else uses, and why both don't run the same?

I'm in the same boat as you, when I get my diff back I was considering a 75-140 synthetic or something. I've topped it up in the past with 80-90 with no ill effect. When I pulled my diff out 2 weeks ago it looked good. I pulled it out to have a power lok installed, screw you old man winter.
Yeah, I am not sure why it calls for "4x4 Gear Oil" when the rear uses 80/90 weight. I would assume the front ring and pinion would run the same as the rear. I have had several other D44 TTBs, but this is my first D50, and the first fluid change. The truck has pretty high miles so I want to go though all the fluids, so I figured I would start at the front.
