the odometer blacking out just started, the truck has been dying for aobut 5k miles now... like ... if i come to a stop at a light, and go to make a right hand turn, it will either bog down really bad, or fully die......
It's mounted to the side of the throttle body underneath the plastic shroud on top of the engine.
Part number is TPS245 from your local autozone. Call them and see if they have the part in stock. Should only take a couple minutes to change, but it "might" be held on with torx bolts. Might wanna check that in advance.
Surprised you haven't gottan a check engine light code yet though.
The other thing to check is that the mass air flow sensor connector isn't loose and maybe even try cleaning it. They sell MAF cleaner at autozone as well.
My dakota does the same thing every once in a while at a stop light. It'll just die, and it's only got 45K miles on it. Been to the dealer 5 times and they can't figure it out either.
Alright i will check into these, i know someone else that i work with was having a similar issue and he got his fuel filter replaced, I have already replaced that.... help any?
The shifting after winding up the rpm's definitely sounds like a bad TPS as Alloro said.
The odometer blackout is a common Expy problem-nothing to do with it dying.
Have to fix the TPS first.
