A/C question

hey guys, i know this has been discussed before BUT i cant get anything out of the search, so here goes. my a/c blows nice and cold and then all of a sudden usually in about 15 minutes, the compressor shuts off and blows hot air. i just had the a/c charged and would like to use the a/c for more than a few minutes at a time, i know there is a sensor but is that a common issue?

Let us know what happens after fifteen minutes or so.

Remember, you MUST have SOME air gap. It has to be able to de-clutch or damage will occur.

There was only one washer in mine, so I just took it out. It blows extremely cold air now. I did it about 2 weeks ago, and I have had no problems yet.

Just did this over the weekend. I only had one shim in mine, too much airgap with it in, not enough with it out.
Dropped by Home Depot and picked up a 3 pack of 6mm washers (for maybe $1).
They are almost identical in size to the shim I had in there.
Grabbed my pliers and took them to a grinding wheel, with a little patience was able to get the airgap perfect. Clutch cycles perfectly now.
